Private browser tool
WebP to JPG Converter
Convert WebP images to JPG instantly, privately, and without uploading your files. WebpForge decodes and re-encodes each image inside your browser, so there is no server transfer to wait for.
Choose one WebP or a batch, set the JPG quality, and download files individually or together as a ZIP. JPG is a practical output when an app, printer, editor, or older workflow does not accept WebP.

Advanced settings
Re-encoding creates a new file without source metadata.
100% Private. Images are processed locally on your device with no uploads.
No paywalls. Unlimited file conversions with zero daily limits or account sign-ups.
When JPG is the useful output
JPG has exceptionally broad support across operating systems, office software, photo labs, and content-management systems. It is best suited to photographs and other images with continuous color.
Keep the original WebP when its smaller file size or transparency matters. Conversion improves compatibility; it does not add detail that was absent from the source.
- Use a quality around 85–90 for a strong balance of detail and file size.
- Increase quality for images with fine texture or text, then inspect the result at full size.
- Choose PNG instead when transparent pixels must remain transparent.
What happens to transparency and metadata
JPG cannot store transparency. Transparent WebP pixels are composited onto the background color selected in Advanced settings; white is the default.
WebpForge creates a new image and removes embedded metadata during re-encoding. Pixel dimensions stay unchanged unless you set a width or height.
Practical examples

- Expected result
- A broadly compatible photo with the original width and height.
- Situation

- Setting
- Choose the marketplace background color before conversion.
- Expected result
- Transparency is flattened predictably instead of appearing black.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert WebP to JPG?
Select or drop one or more .webp files, choose a JPG quality, and wait for the local conversion to finish. Download each JPG or use Download all as ZIP for a batch.
Are my WebP images uploaded?
No. For this converter, image bytes are read and processed in browser memory. They are not sent to WebpForge servers.
Does WebP to JPG conversion reduce quality?
JPG is normally lossy, so re-encoding can remove some detail. A quality setting around 85–90 is often a sensible starting point, but the best value depends on the image.
Can I convert several WebP files at once?
Yes. Select multiple files or drop them together. WebpForge processes them through a device-aware queue and can package completed JPG files into a ZIP.
What happens to transparent WebP areas?
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are blended with the background color selected in Advanced settings. The default is white.
Does the converter work on phones?
Yes, in current mobile browsers that support WebAssembly and Web Workers. Large images may be limited by the memory available to the browser.
